BACKGROUND DESIGN
This project immerses viewers in the mystical and legendary world of Arthurian tales and Celtic mythology, blending historical inspiration with imaginative storytelling. Each design draws from iconic locations and symbols, such as Tintagel Castle, the legendary Excalibur, the ominous Morrigan, and the enchanting Val sans Retour, to create visually stunning and narratively rich environments. Through intricate details and atmospheric settings, these designs bring to life the timeless themes of heroism, magic, and the interplay between light and darkness, offering a captivating journey into the heart of Arthurian and Celtic lore.
CHARACTER DESIGN
This character design project delves into the rich tapestry of Arthurian legends and Celtic mythology, reimagining its iconic figures and introducing a new protagonist inspired by the legacy of King Arthur. From the wise and mystical Merlin, whose arcane knowledge guided Camelot, to the Morrigan, the formidable Celtic goddess of war and fate, and King Arthur himself, the embodiment of leadership and destiny, each character is meticulously designed to reflect their timeless roles and personalities. Alongside these legendary figures, the project introduces a main character who embodies the ideals of Arthurian heroism, drawing inspiration from Arthur’s courage, integrity, and quest for unity. Through intricate details and creative storytelling, this project bridges the ancient and the new, celebrating the enduring allure of these mythic tales.
STORYBOARD
When Wizard Merlin predicts the future, the movement of the Leo constellation shows him a bad sign that the goddess of death - the Morrigan – is back. He guides Princess Arthuretta to awaken Excalibur, King Arthur's legendary sword. This is for her quest to confront the Morrigan in Broceliande Forest. During her adventure, the Morrigan suddenly appears and attacks her with lightning magic. Just as hope wanes, King Arthur comes down from the sky and throws Excalibur at the Morrigan, defeating her. In recognition of her bravery, he crowns Arthuretta under a golden tree.
