Description: "Once Upon A Time" is an animated voyage into the process of self-discovery and personal transformation. Set within a symbolic universe where stories and motifs continually intertwine, the work delves into the subconscious layers of identity formation that emerge amidst the pivotal transition from childhood to adulthood. The narrative explores how our sense of self is shaped by cultural symbols, and societal expectations—metaphorically represented through magical elements such as Sleeping Beauty’s spinning wheel, Cinderella’s glass slipper and Snow White’s poisoned apple. These symbols embody the fairy tales we inherit and the beliefs we internalize, highlighting how they influence our understanding of who we are and who we might become. Reimagined as a gateway to self-exploration, the phrase "Once Upon A Time" becomes an entry point into the ongoing story of meeting and understanding one’s true self. The animation delves into the unspoken, fragmented emotions—fears of change, responsibilities, and uncertainties—that arise during this pivotal phase of personal growth. Its shifting tones—from enchantment to melancholy—mirror the emotional and psychological landscapes of discovering who we are amidst the merging of innocence, doubt, and emerging self-awareness. Through layered visuals and layered narratives, the work invites viewers to reflect on their own journey of self-identity—confronting silent fears, hopes, and memories that influence their understanding of themselves. The passage of time is portrayed as both an enchanting and introspective force, highlighting the ongoing process of self-encounter and growth. "Once Upon A Time" becomes a poetic exploration of the inner voyage—where myth and memory intertwine—revealing that the act of meeting oneself is a complex, transformative story that continues to unfold.
